Today is the last day of the A to Z April Challenge! I’m proud to say that I’ve made it all the way through unscathed! Well, almost. Haha. Just wanted to say thanks so much to all those who participated in the challenge and stopped by my blog. Your readership is highly appreciated. 🙂
So as usual, I failed at life. Whenever the weekend comes around, it devilishly taps me on my shoulder and dances around in an attempt to distract me.
I will not rob you all of V, W, X and Y though. 🙂
I am very glad that I took part in this wonderful challenge. I was able to talk about my xenolalia (the ability to learn foreign languages) and was able to take the time to make great blogger friends like YOU!
In honor of this final post, I’ve decided to post one of my all-time favorite YouTube videos that exemplifies zoanthropy in the best, most comedic way possible. Enjoy!
And no, I’m not talking about drugs. I mean positive influences. Honestly, I think my whole experience with blogging has been an extremely positive one, and I would like to take episode 10 of Three:Thirty Thursdays to thank each and every person that inspires me to be great. There are wayyy too many of you to name, but just know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. From those of you who stop by here every day to read my wacky posts to those of you who push me to be a greater me just by being an amazing you.
There is no doubt in my mind that I suffer from this. I wouldn’t really call it suffering though. I dance all the time. Like… all the time. When I’m eating, I can’t help but sway. I’m a fat kid at heart so food is OBVIOUSLY something to dance about. I’ve gone out with friends and have been in a sour mood.. I even resisted the urge to do the macarena! Once reggae/dancehall came on though, I was a whole new human being.
Yep. All that.
I’m blushing. I have been nominated for yet another award and all I can say is THANK YOU!!! A super huge shout out to Mishali over at R34LITY CH3CK for this honor 🙂
Unlike other awards where you have to answer and ask questions, this one makes my life so much easier. I just have to nominate 12 people that I share a pretty awesome bloggership with.
And the nominees are:
- Alex Hurst
- Not Now, Breezy
- The Way of the Wytch
- Sweet Little Somethings
- R.E.P. This Moment
- Arl’s World
- The Word Trance
- The Next Chapter
- Elsie Elmore
- In My Mind
- Better Than Reality
Congrats my little dumplings 🙂 Pass on the love!
So, as usual, I missed my Saturday post. I’m just going to own the fact that Saturday is my ultimate fail day. Today, I’ve decided to combine my Q and R posts and give you a tasty recipe. In my novel, the main character’s mother (Lillian Prior) is a mom who loves to cook and bake. Whenever her daughter (Cadence Prior) comes home from school, there is always some form of diabetes-inducing goodness awaiting her. One such treat is chocolate filled strawberries.
This recipe is courtesy of Lily Shop by Jessica Jane. Enjoy!
Chocolate Filled Strawberries
15-20 strawberries (the larger the better)
1 bag of Milk Chocolate chips (I use the 11.5 oz Guittard milk chocolate chips)
1. Cut the stems off your clean strawberries and carefully scoop out the top of the berry. The deeper you scoop the more chocolate it will hold. I used large strawberries so I scooped about an inch down.
2. Pour the entire bag of chocolate chips in a glass bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 second intervals. Make sure to take your bowl out every 30 seconds to stir the chips. Continue until all chips are melted.
3. Place your strawberries in an egg carton so they sit straight up. You could also use little Dixie cups. Now you can either spoon your melted chocolate into the berries or use a funnel or piping bag. I used a little baby spoon and it worked fine. Your choice.
4. Place in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes until they harden a bit. Enjoy!
Tip: To keep the chocolate from pouring out of the strawberries while hardening in the fridge, use a CLEAN egg carton or mini muffin tin. This will keep your strawberries sitting upright.
