Good afternoon and happy Thursday!! I was being a good blogger friend and paying a visit to the blogs that I’ve neglected over the past month or so and I stumbled upon a post by Crystin Goodwin called Lucky 7. I had a case of InstaLove with the whole idea of the Lucky 7 blog hop, and so, though I was not nominated for it, I’ll scoot the rules over a bit and participate anyway 🙂
The rules are simple:
- Go to page 7 or 77 in your current WIP.
- Go to line 7
- Post on your blog the next 7 sentences or 7 lines —as they are!
- Tag 7 people and do the same.
- You can choose between page 7 or 77.
So for your viewing pleasure, here is page 77 line 7.. 7 sentences. Enjoy!
Tried and failed.
Cadence couldn’t hold back the tears that had been waiting to burst from their ducts. Her heavy sobs bubbled from her chest in despair-laden breaths. She forced herself to sit up, curling her legs to her chest, ignoring the searing pain that shot through her limbs and threatened to send her back to unconsciousness.
Axelia climbed into the bed, pulling herself closer to Cadence. She lowered Cadence’s head into her tiny lap, rocking her gently and stroking her golden curls. A dulcet melody filled the air as she quietly sang, “Nowma wa alhalum.”
Now show me what you’re working with!:
The Way of the Wytch
The Wordy Rose
R.E.P This Moment
Good luck! 😉
I’ve been so excited about catching up on my blogging that I completely skipped over Tuesday and posted my Word Porn Wednesday a day early.
So last night, my fiance decided to cook dinner. Man, let me tell you it was soooooo good. He hasn’t cooked for me in about 2 years, but I enjoy cooking so it’s not really his fault. Anyway, my inner fat kid did the ultimate happy dance when I tasted that magic. Spicy chicken stew & potato bread. #Yum
In book news:
In the spirit of challenging myself to be the best writer I can, (and to finish this friggin book already), I will be pushing myself to write at least 4,000 words a day for the month of July. Also, I’m also thinking about writing a short story for you all, with a chapter published on my blog once a week. With each chapter that’s written, you all will have the opportunity to comment and critique, and also give your input on how you would like to see the story progress. I think it could be a lot of fun, but of course, I’ll need your participation! 🙂 Til next time 🙂
This goes hand in hand with my mental block that keeps me from speaking all the languages that I know. I’m such a perfectionist it’s annoying. I have all these great ideas and all these great goals, but I always hold myself to such a standard that if I can’t be great at it on my first try, then it’s not meant to be… It’s such a bad habit. I’ve never met anyone worse than me in this category. Some people pick up on things with such ease and are AMAZING at whatever they do.
Sometimes, I feel like I’m not good enough. While writing my book, for example, I’ll spend time rereading chapters and I just want to scrap the whole project. We are our toughest critics. I guess what’s important is to not give up (like I usually find myself doing). Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean that I can’t do it… it just means I need to use a little elbow grease and put a little more work in. Hopefully I find that spirit of perseverance sooner than later!
It’s FRIDAYYY!!! It’s definitely my favorite day of the work week. I’m feeling good, feeling great and I hope that my feel goods will rub off on you too. Haha. I wanted to share this song that I’ve had on repeat for the past two weeks.. every day.. at least ten times a day. Obsessed much? I think so. I promise, I’m not being biased because of our names. Lol. [Sam I Am]
My current situation while listening to this amazing song:
More than appropriate
They say summer is right around the corner but with the way the weather has been lately, it feels like I’ve been giving the devil a mile long piggy back ride and we took a break in his library. When I say it’s hot, it’s HOT
Okay, not Dean hot, but pretty damn close
It’s usually the general practice that people want to get it right, get it tight for the summer season… beach bod and all that.. but I’m no beach bum. I do, however, have my own reasons for wanting to get my fitness on. Numero uno…. my 24th birthday is right around the corner (July 6th woot woot) and I’d like to look back on my fiesta photos years from now and say “24 was a good year”. Numero dos… my wedding is August 24th… and my dress has been purchased since December and I need to make sure it still fits. So even though I want to eat like
I’m going to have to curb my appetite a bit and bust a couple squats for good measure. I’ll probably stop by over at Sweet Little Somethings for some organic goodies to add to the menu. What are you doing to get that beach body?
