Word Porn Wednesday – Brumous

Okay, I can explain. I have a very good reason for my absence, I promise. As you all know, I am probably one of the biggest bookworms in the world, and that is the very reason why I have been MIA. I have finally sunk my teeth into the Game of Thrones series, and let me tellll you…

Today’s word porn is inspired by these beautiful books. Winter is coming, both figuratively and literally. I just started book 5 of the series 3 days ago and I’m already more than halfway through. Obsessed much? I think so. I’m all about action, adventure & romance and this series just does it all for me. You guys know I love all things mystical/magical so this was definitely right up my alley. I started watching the show, but it doesn’t quite do it for me like the books do. You should have seen me when I found out that there are 2 books left to be released in the series.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up

Looks like it’s time to get back to scheduled posts so I don’t neglect you guys any further. Happy Wednesday!

  1. A book worm myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find the shows captivating. I don’t watch t.v. In fact, I don’t know how to turn my television on. But I binge watched the entire four seasons in one week. They were so well made that I am intrigued to read the books. Glad to hear the books are worth the read. I recommend The Iron King by Maurice Druon, which is what Martin read as inspiration for the series. It was a fun read.

    • If you liked the show, you will LOVE the books. I watched the first 4 episodes of the show, and was really impressed by how well they adapted the story. I’m told that as the seasons go on, they kind of get away from the books, but the storyline is still just as good. I definitely recommend that you read the books. You won’t regret it.

And thank you for the recommendation for The Iron King. I’ll be adding it to my Kindle collection by the end of the week most likely 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I’m afraid to start any series that I can’t binge read to the end, so I’ve held off on starting them. It would just niggle at me too much.

In any case, welcome back, and happy reading! Good to see you again. 🙂
